Knights of Columbus
Welcome
Neighbors helping Neighbors - Service together
Welcome to the St. Nicholas Council of the Knights of Columbus. We are a fraternal organization associated with the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Gig Harbor, Washington. We assist church members and others in the community in our effort to follow the canons of the church.
St. Nicholas Council No. 9238, Gig Harbor was established on March 3, 1986. Twenty-Five (25) years ago in a parish that is closing in on it's cententenial celebration. Our regular first Tuesday of every month member's pot-luck dinner and regular third Tuesday of every monthly Council meeting are typically held in the picturesque St. Nicholas Old Church which is also closing in on it's cententenial birthday.
For a Knights of Columbus Council; 25 years is a short time. In other words we are a new and vibrant group; with a mix of experience obtained from all the knights sponsored and supported events we've thus far accomplished. Like the parish breakfasts, numerous dinners, work parties, blood drives, blessings of the fleet, flag raisings, yard sales, parish picnics support and other charitable events we've accomplished and are going to accomplish.
All, in part, thanks to the efforts of our founding leaders and of outstanding knights like David C. McConnon, Del Garber, Kark Rogala, Warren VanBuskirk, Jim Wainwright, Larry Faker,Chris Goodman, Pete Kesling, Jim Burcar, Don Nelson, John Oldham, Jerome "Dutch" Dolney and others. All who contibuted to the fraternal and "we change things and lives" attitude and environment of K of C Council 9238.
